What is Squiggle Chair?
A Message from the Creator
The Squiggle Chair is a concept I came up with to aid parents, grandparents, and child care givers with washing children’s hair.
I remember how difficult it was to use both hands when washing and rinsing my daughter’s hair when she was a toddler. Decades later, I was having the same problem washing my grandson’s hair.
Little ones do not stay still. They wiggle and squirm because they can’t find a position to get comfortable while in the tub. Eventually, they move around so much that the soapy water can get into their eyes. I knew there must be a better way – so I came up with the idea of the Squiggle Chair.
Upon trying out the first prototype of the Squiggle chair, I soon discovered that once a child is comfortable in the chair, they automatically lay their head back and relax.
How Does the Squiggle Chair Work?
The Squiggle Chair is a curvy, body-conforming, waterproof chair designed specifically for babies, toddlers, and children to sit back comfortably in while having a bath.
When the child is sitting still, it allows the parent, grandparent or care giver the ability to use both hands to wash and rinse the child’s hair.
The water flow and direction can be more easily controlled to ensure that and no more soapy water gets in the eyes or ears of the child.
And the ultimate reward is that there is no more whining or crying because your toddler or child does not like having their hair washed.
With the Squiggle Chair, hair washing is fun and relaxing – for both the adult and the child.
What Types of Hair Does the Squiggle Chair Help?
The Squiggle Chair is designed to help when washing many different types of hair.
Including hair that is:
- Hard to handle
- Easily tangled
- Low hairlines
Instead of having to hold the child up with one hand while using the other hand to wash their hair, you now have both hands free to wash and rinse your child’s hair comfortably.
Other Benefits of the Squiggle Chair
Another major advantage of using the Squiggle Chair is for children with tubes in their ears.
Ear problems in children are very common and if soapy water gets in their ears during bath time it can make their ear problems even worse!
With the Squiggle Chair, the child is laying back to ensure that water does not get in their ears.
How old Does a Child Need to be to Use the Squiggle Chair?
You will be able to use the chair for many years – essentially until your child grows out of it.
The Squiggle Chair is adjustable to accommodate children from 1.5 years to 5 years of age.
